The Life Church – Dallas, TX

The Life Church had a number of unique desires and goals for both their new building and their new audio, video, and lighting systems. A high degree of versatility was required in order to accommodate a combination of traditional instruments (choir, organ, baby grand piano) and contemporary sound sources (electronic keyboard, bass guitar and drums), volunteers with different levels of experience, and a congregation of all ages. The new sanctuary, which seats around 350 with room to grow, has a traditional feel, so the aesthetic aspect was as important as the practical.

Eastern Heights Church – Cleburne, TX

Eastern Heights is a church focused on creating an outward reaching ministry and bringing the hurting and disenfranchised back into a healthy community. We have been working with them on this project for over 5 years, having provided them with equipment for their former worship space. The system has evolved over time and is the most capable and versatile audio, video and lighting system we have installed to date. The room seats around 800, and continued growth of their congregation has necessitated the addition of a second service. Aside from regular worship, the sanctuary is ideally suited for hosting touring musical groups, dramatic performances and youth events.

Gateway Community Church – Granbury, TX

Self described as a “melting pot of people from various church backgrounds and experiences,” Gateway Community Church finished constructing a new 300-seat worship center in 2010. ProAudio.com was hired to design and integrate a turnkey A/V/L System. Incorporating a blended worship style that leans more toward contemporary than traditional, their multi-instrumental accompanying worship team with at least 10 vocalists required numerous inputs and outputs that could easily be configured for different leaders. Lighting and video control systems were also included to allow room and stage lighting adjustments from the media booth and from wall mounted keypads for ease of use. To enhance the room’s interaction with the loudspeaker system, ProAudio.com also designed and provided absorption materials to assemble D.I.Y. acoustic treatment panels. Gateway’s volunteers covered the panels with the same fabric that covers their new chairs, which resulted in an effective and visually pleasing solution.

Project Details
Objective: To design and integrate a turnkey A/V/L system to facilitate a blended worship style, with distributed and recorded audio and video.

St. John Lutheran Church – Mansfield, TX

St. John Lutheran Church in Mansfield, Texas completed a new worship, education, and gymnasium facility totaling 23,500 square feet in 2008. As a new construction project, the ProAudio.com Design/Build team was brought in to draft, install and implement the sanctuary’s audio, video, lighting and acoustic treatment systems. St. John seats up to 500 people at a time and offers several diverse services which range from traditional liturgy to a contemporary band and worship team. A digital snake and digital mixing console keep the signals clean and easily controlled with presets and scenes. Because each service is different, we implemented a stage layout to accommodate both gatherings which incorporate multichannel wired and wireless personal monitors. Additionally, we provided a complete distributed video system to display feeds from a camera, DVD player and presentation software to the sanctuary, foyer, and classrooms on more than a dozen screens and displays. Stage and room lighting complements the space and is also digitally controlled.

Project Details

  • Lighting: Elation lighting control and NSI/Leviton, Chauvet, and Elation fixtures.

Providence Church – Frisco, TX

A relatively new congregation in Frisco, TX, Providence Church reclaimed a former auto dealership and transformed it into a completely functional facility providing worship, education, gathering, and office space. The project was completed just before Christmas 2009, and has provided ample room for growth at a premier location with tremendous visibility and accessibility. Providence’s worship style is very contemporary and appeals to young families, so they needed a cost-effective A/V/L solution that re-purposed some existing equipment into the new system. Significant volume levels were desired for live and prerecorded music for video, while speech intelligibility was a primary concern. An A/V/L system was also needed for the children’s worship area. ProAudio.com was contracted to design and integrate existing and new equipment to acheive the desired result.

Project Details
Objective: To design and integrate an A/V/L solution for a facility offering contemporary services, incorporating existing and new equipment, and to provide infrastructure for future upgrades to a digital snake, distributed and recorded audio and video.

Equipment:

  • Audio: DB Technolgies DVA-T4 self-powered 3-way line array loudspeakers and Bag End dual 18″ self-powered subwoofers to provide sound reinforcement for existing Yamaha DM1000 digital mixer and Aviom personal monitor mixers. An Aviom A-16D distributor and additional A-16II mixers were added to supplement the monitor system, and (2) Presonus Digimax LT mic preamps and a Yamaha MYAT card were added to increase channel capacity on the Yamaha console. Shure and Sennheiser wired and wireless microphones, and Sennheiser wireless IEM systems were also added.
  • Video: Customer-supplied Mitsubishi projectors and Draper screens.
  • Lighting: NSI/Leviton control, Elation and Lightronics dimming, and Chauvet and Elation incandescent, LED, and moving head fixtures. Wall-mounted keypads were installed for easily controlled scenes. ProAudio.com also provided plans, instruction, and materials to supply a D.I.Y acoustic treatment solution.
